We were asked for a Pressure Switch that could be set as an alarm trip for Gas Bottle Systems.
The Gas Bottles would have a full pressure of 300bar and they wanted an alarm when the bottle pressure dropped to 5bar. This made this application very demanding as we would have a normal operating pressure that would be 295bar above the switch set point.
We were able to meet this by using the Pinter “DU” Pressure Switch. Pinter designed a new high over-pressure protection cage for the Bellows that is the pressure sensing part of the switch and the advantage of this cage is the over-pressure cannot strain, alter the set point or the accuracy/reliability of the switch. The cage locks the bellows to a very narrow band of movement, for this application the switch is adjustable between 5-50bar any pressure above or below the set point and the bellows cannot flex.
With the bellows and the pressure connection all being in 316 Stainless Steel and the bellows being all welded this switch has no internal leak points and offers a very secure connection.
By meeting this demanding application we are now able to offer the switch to any of our customers who want a reliable and secure alarm switch for high pressure gas systems where low pressure alarm is required.
A gauge can be added as an option if visual indication is required.
